Scholarships
The Department of Religious Studies has two scholarship opportunities for undergraduate majors who will be enrolled full time during the 2025-2026 academic year. Both applications are open now through March 15.Ìý All materials including faculty letters of support must be uploaded by the March 15 deadline.Ìý Applicants must first complete both the CU Boulder General Scholarship Application and the College of Arts and Sciences Scholarship Application.Ìý Please visit the CU Boulder Scholarship Application page to get started.
K.A. Nuzum Scholarship in Religious Studies
The K.A. Nuzum Scholarship is awarded to an outstanding major in Religious Studies who meets the following criteria:
- Enrolled full-time in the 2025-2026 academic year as an undergraduate major in Religious Studies.
*.Preference is for student(s) who are high achieving or have financial need. - Complete the CU Boulder General Scholarship Application and the College of Arts & Sciences Scholarship Application, including the optional DEI question.
- Letter of Recommendation from a RLST faculty member must be uploaded by the application deadline of March 15th.
The Nuzum Scholar will receive a $1,000 award split equally between the fall and spring semesters and must remain enrolled full-time throughout the academic year.
The Scholarship Committee particularly encourages underrepresented students in the Religious Studies department to apply. Underrepresented students include those students from geographic areas and socioeconomic backgrounds who are historically underrepresented in the field of Religious Studies, and/or students who have faced unusual adversity.
Undergraduate Mentorship Scholarship in Religious Studies
The Undergraduate Mentorship Scholarship is awarded to students who meet the following criteria:
- Must be enrolled full-time in the 2025-2026 academic year as an undergraduate major in Religious Studies.
- Interested in exploring career opportunities available to people with a degree in Religious Studies.
- Complete the CU Boulder General Scholarship Application and the College of Arts & Sciences Scholarship Application.
