To听remain听in听good听academic听standing听at听the听University听of听Colorado听Boulder听a听student听must听maintain听at听least a听2.0cumulative听grade听point听average听(GPA)听and听make听satisfactory听progress听toward听the听degree听as听defined听by听the听student鈥檚 college/school.听Academic听Alert听and听Academic听Warning听are听official听standings indicating听that听a听student鈥檚听cumulative GPAdoes not meet the minimum academic standard of 2.0.
Academic Watch听(unofficial standing): A notice from the College of Music indicating a concern with a student鈥檚 academic record approaching the threshold for Academic Alert or Warning. A follow-up advising session will be required between the student and academic advisor.
Academic Alert听(ALRT): The academic standing of a first听semester听student (first-year听or听transfer)听whose cumulative CU GPA does not meet the minimum standard of 2.0.
Academic Warning听(ACWR): The academic standing of a continuing student (second semester and beyond) whose cumulative CU GPA does not meet the minimum standard of 2.0. Students who earn a听term听GPA of 2.30 or higher while on Academic Warning can continue on Academic Warning for two terms without being suspended.
Academic Suspension听(SUSP): The academic standing of a student who did not meet the requirements of Academic Alert or Academic Warning.听Students are unable to enroll in CU Boulder main campus classes or graduate听from听theuniversity听while on academic suspension.听Displays on the official transcript.
Conditionally Enrolled听(CENR): The academic standing of a student who wishes to be reinstated after being听on Academic Suspension may work to raise their cumulative GPA by: 1) enrolling in Division of Continuing Education classes (evening, online, or applied music).听The student must successfully achieve a 2.3 term GPA or above (no courses taken pass/fail) for each fall or spring enrolled term in CE. Incomplete coursework does not prevent or delay dismissal; 2) enrolling in summer session courses at any CU campus. Grades will be calculated into the cumulative GPA; 3) taking one calendar year off with no enrollment at any institution. After returning, the student will have the same cumulative GPA as when they were suspended but will have two terms, in addition to summer, to raise their cumulative CU GPA to a 2.0 and be in good academic standing.听Displays on the official transcript.
Removed from听Academic听Suspension听(RASP): The academic standing of a student previously on Academic Suspension whose cumulative GPA meets the minimum academic standard of 2.0.听Displays on the official transcript.
Academic Dismissal听(DISM): The academic standing of a student on Academic Suspension who has not achieved the required 2.3听term听GPA while enrolled in summer session or Continuing Education courses.听Displays on the official transcript.
Music听Scholarship Eligibility鈥�
Students听who听are听awarded听a听music听scholarship听sign听an听official听agreement听stating听that听they听will听maintain听a听minimum听3.0 cumulative听GPA for eligibility. Scholarship听recipients听who听fall听below听that听level听will听be听placed听on听scholarship听probation for one semester.

Scholarship Probation:听Scholarship recipients whose cumulative GPA does not meet the minimum standard of 3.0 will be placed on Scholarship Probation. If the cumulative GPA is not 3.0 or higher after the probationary semester, the scholarship will听be听cancelled.听A听maximum听of听two听semesters听may听be听granted听with听approval听from听the听Associate听Dean听for Undergraduate Studies in which case, a follow-up meeting will be required between the student and Associate Dean.
