Academic WatchÌý(unofficial standing): A notice from the College of Music indicating a concern with a student’s academic record approaching the threshold for Academic Alert or Warning. A follow-up advising session will be required between the student and academic advisor.

Academic AlertÌý(ALRT): The academic standing of a firstÌýsemesterÌýstudent (first-yearÌýorÌýtransfer)Ìýwhose cumulative CU GPA does not meet the minimum standard of 2.0.

Academic WarningÌý(ACWR): The academic standing of a continuing student (second semester and beyond) whose cumulative CU GPA does not meet the minimum standard of 2.0. Students who earn aÌýtermÌýGPA of 2.30 or higher while on Academic Warning can continue on Academic Warning for two terms without being suspended.

Academic SuspensionÌý(SUSP): The academic standing of a student who did not meet the requirements of Academic Alert or Academic Warning.ÌýStudents are unable to enroll in CU Boulder main campus classes or graduateÌýfromÌýtheuniversityÌýwhile on academic suspension.ÌýDisplays on the official transcript.

Conditionally EnrolledÌý(CENR): The academic standing of a student who wishes to be reinstated after beingÌýon Academic Suspension may work to raise their cumulative GPA by: 1) enrolling in Division of Continuing Education classes (evening, online, or applied music).ÌýThe student must successfully achieve a 2.3 term GPA or above (no courses taken pass/fail) for each fall or spring enrolled term in CE. Incomplete coursework does not prevent or delay dismissal; 2) enrolling in summer session courses at any CU campus. Grades will be calculated into the cumulative GPA; 3) taking one calendar year off with no enrollment at any institution. After returning, the student will have the same cumulative GPA as when they were suspended but will have two terms, in addition to summer, to raise their cumulative CU GPA to a 2.0 and be in good academic standing.ÌýDisplays on the official transcript.

Removed fromÌýAcademicÌýSuspensionÌý(RASP): The academic standing of a student previously on Academic Suspension whose cumulative GPA meets the minimum academic standard of 2.0.ÌýDisplays on the official transcript.

Academic DismissalÌý(DISM): The academic standing of a student on Academic Suspension who has not achieved the required 2.3ÌýtermÌýGPA while enrolled in summer session or Continuing Education courses.ÌýDisplays on the official transcript.

MusicÌýScholarship Eligibility​

StudentsÌýwhoÌýareÌýawardedÌýaÌýmusicÌýscholarshipÌýsignÌýanÌýofficialÌýagreementÌýstatingÌýthatÌýtheyÌýwillÌýmaintainÌýaÌýminimumÌý3.0 cumulativeÌýGPA for eligibility. ScholarshipÌýrecipientsÌýwhoÌýfallÌýbelowÌýthatÌýlevelÌýwillÌýbeÌýplacedÌýonÌýscholarshipÌýprobation for one semester.

Scholarship Probation:ÌýScholarship recipients whose cumulative GPA does not meet the minimum standard of 3.0 will be placed on Scholarship Probation. If the cumulative GPA is not 3.0 or higher after the probationary semester, the scholarship willÌýbeÌýcancelled.ÌýAÌýmaximumÌýofÌýtwoÌýsemestersÌýmayÌýbeÌýgrantedÌýwithÌýapprovalÌýfromÌýtheÌýAssociateÌýDeanÌýfor Undergraduate Studies in which case, a follow-up meeting will be required between the student and Associate Dean.
