IPHY Undergraduate Research Award

Eligibility

  • Students must be IPHY degree-seeking undergraduates at the Â鶹ÊÓƵ to apply for the IPHY UG Research Grant funding and should not plan to graduate before the end of the proposed award semester.
  • Studentsmust be supervised by an eligible IPHY faculty mentor, who is a tenured/tenure-track faculty, research faculty, or a contract instructor within IPHY at the Â鶹ÊÓƵ. Graduate students or post-docs may serve in a supervisory role on this student award, but the faculty mentor must provide some direct mentoring to the undergraduate.

Description

  • The IPHY Undergraduate Research Award will provide funding of up to $2000 for the duration of one summer, or $1000 per fall or spring semester, to support students working in a lab.
  • This award is not intended to provide money for research supplies or other research-related expenses.
  • This award will support up to 4 students per summer or semester.
  • Students cannot receive both a UROP and IPHY Undergraduate Research Award at the same time

Timeline

  • The IPHY awards committee will accept applications on an ongoing basis.
  • Each application is for one semester only (Fall, Spring, or Summer).
  • The deadline for Fall applications is Aug. 1, Spring applications is Jan. 1 and Summer applications is May 1.

Review Process

  • Proposals will be evaluated by the IPHY awards committee.
  • Applicants will be notified of the award committee's decision within 3 weeks after the deadline.
