Kelly Merckaert is a PhD student in the research group at Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), under the supervision of Prof. Bram Vanderborght, and in the at Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) under the supervision of Prof. Emanuele Garone. Her research topic is constrained control of collaborative robotic manipulators.

She received herÌýB.S. in Electromechanical Engineering in 2014 from the VUB, Belgium, and her M.S. in Electromechanical Engineering with option in Mechatronics-Construction in 2016 as a joint degree from the VUB and the ULB,ÌýBelgium. In 2015 she worked 3 months as a research intern at the Center for Research on Complex Automated Systems (CASY) of the University of Bologna and at Aslatech Engineering in Bologna, Italy.

Her research stay at CU Boulder focused on the development of suitable methods ofÌýConstrained Control for Safe Human-Robot InteractionÌýin collaboration with theÌý group at CU Boulder. Ìý
