The 2022 RASC-AL Competition is seeking undergraduate and graduate teams to develop new concepts that leverage innovation to improve our ability to operate on the moon, Mars and beyond. This year’s themes range from operations for extending mobility and enabling sample return on the Moon to large-scale in-situ resource utilization of water on Mars.Ìý

The college has launched an innovative new program to help juniors and seniors get the financial support they need to complete their degrees. Income Share Agreements are an alternative to student loans in which students agree to share a fixed percentage of their earnings after graduation, with safeguards in place including payment caps and repayment windows.

Qualifying students are eligible for up to $5,000 per year to bridge the gap toward graduation.

Are you interested in thinking about the ethical implications of engineering and technology? Are you concerned about the big picture questions that affect science and society? Consider being a part of the Herbst Certificate Program in Engineering, Ethics & Society. The certificate consists of 12 credit hours, derived from either courses from the EES Course Menu or approved courses of a student’s choice.

Herbst offers compelling courses such as Engineering in History, Energy and the Climate Question, The Meaning of Information Technology and Ethics of Genetic Engineering. Be part of a growing community of CEAS students who want to approach the challenges of the modern world with more than a technical perspective!

The college’s cloud computing solution, which provides remote access to a Windows desktop from almost any device or platform (including Mac OS), from anywhere with an internet connection, all within a web browser of your choice, is available again this academic year.Ìý

The platform includes more than 40 applications, including Solidworks, AutoCAD, Altium Designer, Revit, ANSYS, Matlab and many more. The system is available to all CU Engineering students, faculty and staff for academic use.

As the new semester begins, the college is once again offering technology devices for loan to help students serving as TAs or CAs for engineering classes.

The college offers document cameras, pen-enabled displays and tablets, voice amplifiers, and a limited supply of headset mics to borrow for the semester. Although priority is granted to instructional faculty members, supplies are also available to teaching assistants and course assistants.

Equipment checkout is available on a first come, first served basis from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays at the front desk of the Integrated Teaching and Learning Laboratory (ITLL).
