Designing and operating sustainable and resilient buildings is a critical component of addressing climate change. In this webinar, Moncef Krarti and Nick Clements will present two programs in architectural engineering addressing this need.

COSINC is introducing its new Xenocs Xeuss 3.0 instrument with a small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) workshop. The SAXS technique has diverse applications in scientific research and industry, in areas such as polymers and composites, semiconductors, biomaterials, gas capture and storage, material sciences, forensics, and pharmaceuticals.

The workshop will include an overview of the SAXS technique, recent applications, and a demonstration of measurement capabilities. Participants may request sample measurements.

听by 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8.听In-person and remote options are available, with refreshments and lunch provided for in-person attendees.

The Engineering Excellence Fund (EEF) is now accepting proposals for its fall 2024 cycle. Faculty, staff and students from the College of Engineering and Applied Science are encouraged to submit proposals for funding to enhance engineering education and support innovative projects.

EEF welcomes applications for funding in听any amount, with a focus on projects that have a significant impact on student learning and innovation.

Deadline for nominations is Oct. 21
Graduating undergraduate student award听nominations are now being accepted for students graduating with their bachelor鈥檚 degree in December 2024!听The听nomination form听is open for eight award categories.

The complete set of听criteria associated with each award听must be fully addressed by nominators.听A good听听is available for reference. Student winners will be notified by early November and honored at the December听Engineering Graduation Ceremony.
