Laura is thrilled to be a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Clinical Trainee with CAPS this year. She is a registered nurse and licensed professional counselor with 10 years of experience in counseling and mental health. Laura’s theoretical orientation is rooted in relationship and incorporates awareness of the bio-psycho-social-spiritual elements of the whole person. Laura has worked in inpatient and outpatient treatment settings, hospice, labor and delivery, and public health.

Laura has interest and experience supporting clients to navigate mood disorders, substance use problems, grief and loss, trauma, crisis, schizophrenia and psychosis, neurodiversity and disability. She is particularly passionate about reproductive mental health, including sexuality, sexual and gender identity, pregnancy, abortion, postpartum mental health and parenting.
