The Biotechnology Opportunity Seminar Series (BOSS) inspires students and postdocs to explore exciting careers in industry. Leaders in the biotech industry are invited to talk about their company, their work, and their career experiences. These speakers bring insight and networking opportunities to researchers who are interested in working outside of academia.
Bringing companies to campus:
BOSS began in 2010 as a partnership with the CU Biotech Club and the Deming Center for Entrepreneurship. Since then, BOSS has sponsored 21 seminars featuring industry leaders. BOSS has hosted John Milligan, President and Chief Operating Officer of Gilead Sciences and Thomas Harding, Senior Vice President of Preclinical Research and Translational Medicine at Clovis Oncology. These seminars have been made possible with the support of Jim and Patience Linfield and Cooley LLP.
