In its 61st season, the Colorado Shakespeare Festival brings five classic plays, including Shakespeare’s Love’s Labour’s Lost and Richard III, to CU Boulder stages through Aug. 12.
The festival's 2018 season kicks off with a lighthearted homage to its academic surroundings in a play about a king and three of his noblemen who make a pact to sequester themselves, concentrate only on learning and swear off love.
Colorado Shakespeare Festival favorite Rodney Lizcano will soon have something in common with great actors Ian McKellen, Laurence Olivier, Kenneth Branagh and Benedict Cumberbatch: having played the role of Richard III.
Like a mashup of “Romeo and Juliet,” “The Three Musketeers” and “The Princess Bride,” “Cyrano” is a big, bold, romantic adventure boasting swoon-worthy overtures, clever wordplay and thrilling swordplay.
