The McNair Scholars Program at CU Boulder just made an exciting change for 2024: up to five qualified juniors can now apply and start right away! Traditionally, hopeful McNair Scholars would apply to join the program in the spring, and admitted candidates would start the following fall semester. This is your chance to skip the wait, so don鈥檛 delay!
What鈥檚 McNair?
McNair helps eligible students鈥攆irst-gen, income-eligible college students or students from underrepresented groups in graduate education鈥攇et research experience, faculty mentorship and grad school prep, all aimed at setting you up for a PhD or EdD.
Who can apply?
To qualify, you need to:
- Be a first-gen student and/or part of a group underrepresented in grad education
- Have a 3.0 GPA or higher
- Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Be serious about getting a PhD or EdD after graduation
