Program Council’s back-to-school event is back and better than ever before.With the excitement buzzing in the air of a new school, we are happy to announce that Hippie Sabotage will headlineWelcomeFest this year, supported by Mike Dimes, with opener No Thanks and local artists Crash G, Don Jamal andGano.

The concert will take place on Saturday, Aug.26,on Farrand Field. Doors are scheduled to open at 5p.m., with music beginning at 6 p.m. Admission is free to all CU Boulder students who provide theirBuff OneCard at wristband locations, including first-year students, transfer students, returning students, graduate studentsand law students.

Wristbands, which are needed for entry to the event,will be distributed beginning at 11a.m. on Aug. 26 at Farrand Field, the UMC Arcade,Kittredge Central Halland the Williams Village Center Dining and Community Commons. No re-entry will be allowed once attendees enter the venue and leave.

Wristbands

Wristbandswill be distributed beginning at 11a.m.at Farrand Field, the UMC Arcade, Kittredge Central Hall and the Village Center.


​Event policies

Attendees can expect airport-like security. No bags larger than 4.5" x 6.5" will be allowed; all bags within this size range will be subject to search. Additional event policies include no skateboards, no weapons (including concealed carry), no professional photography or videography, no alcohol or illegal drugs, and no glass or metal water bottles. Empty plastic water bottles are allowed, as are factory-sealed, unopened plastic single-use, non-alcoholic beverages. Water bottle refill stations will be available at the event.

Headliner: Hippie Sabotage

is a Sacramento-born, Los Angeles-based production duo made up of brothers Kevin andJeff Saurer. The duo got their start as bedroom producers in middle school after obsessing over the music used in their favorite skateboarding videos.

In 2014, Hippie Sabotage skyrocketed to No. 1 on Billboard’s Next Big Sound chart after releasing their remix of Tove Lo’s “Habits Stay High”and have since surpassed over a billion Spotifystreams. In 2019, Hippie Sabotage performed at festivals includingAustin City Limits, Made In America, Day N Vegas, Bumbershoot, Electric Forest, Corona Capital, Splash Houseand more. The duo has played at Colorado's beloved Red Rocks Ampitheatre several times.

Their sound is rooted in electronic music, but it takes cues from hip-hop, psych rockand chillwave, all pulled together by Jeff’s killer guitar skills and Kevin’s explosive personality on stage.

Mike Dimes

Mike Dimes is a San Antonio, Texas-based rapper most recognized for his use of storytelling and heavy beats in his work. With poetic influences of A$AP Rocky and Tupac, combined with the personality of artists like Kanye West, his career has skyrocketed over the past threeyears. His songs “My Story”and “No Trends” have helped him achieve almost 3 million monthly listeners on Spotify, which named him as one of the 10 Most Necessary Artists to Watch in 2022. This year, he performed at the Rolling Loud Miami music festival.

No Thanks

NoThanksis a house music group comprised ofGiuliano Rascan andDejan Zoric, both from Canada. The pair bring a unique, high-energyand fresh sound to the dance music scene, which has gained them support from mainstage acts and top record labels including Insomniac Records, Space Yacht Records, Tchami’s Confession Records andmore.

The WelcomeFest concert is Program Council’s largest event of the school year. The concert welcomes in the new school year with live music and is considered a fall semester highlight for many.

Program Council is a student-run department of the Center for Student Involvement that is funded entirely by student fees allocated through the 鶹Ƶ Student Government (CUSG). Established in 1953, Program Council provides affordable, high-quality, face-rocking, entertainment and professional event support for the Boulder campus community.
