This weekend brings the Equity Allies virtual meetup, fine art and mindfulness, Glass Animals Liquid Sky, gardening at SEEC, DeVotchKa and the Boulder Philharmonic, Elemental film screening and more.

Free Finals Week at the Rec

The Rec Center will be hosting free fitness classes, bouldering and more during finals week for all Rec Center members.


Friday, May 5

  12:15–12:45 p.m.   CU Art Museum
Take a break this Friday by learning about a work of art and participating in a beneficial mindfulness activity.

  1–3 p.m.   CU Art Museum
This Artist Spotlight event will focus on artwork by Barbara Takenaga. Students will use acrylic paint to make art inspired by Takenga. Sign-up required

  2:30–3:30 p.m.   Virtual
Are you an ally of equity work? This event will give you a chance to discuss equity issues with peers.

  May 5, 6    7 p.m.   Chautauqua Community House   $13
Enjoy a screening of Elemental, a film that invites you to reimagine your relationship with wildfire. 

  8:30–9:30 p.m.   Fiske Planetarium   $8–$12
Enjoy an immersive show with music from Glass Animals. All projections are done live by liquid sky engineers. 


Saturday, May 6

  2:30–3:30 p.m.   Fiske Planetarium   $8–$12
Enjoy a show that questions where we came from and what we are made of—in 8K resolution. Narrated by Andy Serkis.

  7:30 p.m.   Macky Auditorium   $25–$104
DeVotchKa is coming to Macky Auditorium with a global-infused modern-indie sound. Enthusiasts say that joy is guaranteed.


Sunday, May 7

  2:30–3:30 p.m.   Fiske Planetarium   $8–$12
Thousands of stars and planets have been discovered in the night sky. Visit Fiske Planetarium for an introduction to the universe. 

  5–6 p.m.   SEEC
Get connected with nature this spring by participating in planting and gardening activities. The Environmental Center is inviting students to help plant onions, carrots, herbs and lettuce at the SEEC Garden.
