10 things to do this week: Indulge in a late-night breakfast and more

This week brings the ATLAS Expo, free goodies at The Hive, a meditation at Fiske, a walk through the farmer’s market, a silent film accompanied by CU music students, a pouring challenge and more.

Monday, May 1

  ​ May 1–4   9 a.m–6 p.m.   Hellems, Room 159
Set time aside for yourself this week. Stop by The Hive @ ALTEC for free goodies, including bagels, popcorn, ice cream sandwiches, a snack bar and goodie bags. 

  2 p.m.   UMC North Dining Area
Learn about campus involvement while enjoying a yogurt parfait, hosted by the Center for Student Involvement.


Tuesday, May 2

  11 a.m.–1 p.m.   College and Broadway underpass
Before partaking in end-of-the-year celebrations, put your knowledge of alcohol to the test. Celebrate safely with resources from Health and Wellness Services. 

  5–6 p.m.   Fiske Planetarium 
CAPS and Fiske Planetarium are teaming up to help you reconnect the mind and body. Ease your mind with an easy-going guided meditation.


Wednesday, May 3

  3:30 p.m.   C4C, ISSS office lobby
International students are invited to a farmer’s market walk this Wednesday! Attendees may even score some free swag/goodies.

ATLAS Expo 2023

  4–6 p.m.   ATLAS Center
Join this year’s ATLAS Expo—the biggest one yet—featuring student works in creative technology, computing and design, including AR/VR, games, electronics and interactive and immersive experiences.

  7–9:30 p.m.   UMC
Treat yourself to a free late-night breakfast after the last day of classes, a favorite CU Boulder tradition. No meal plan required.

  7:30 p.m.   Imig Music, Chamber Hall S102
College of Music students will accompanying silent films using various music scores from the American Music Research Center's Grauman collection: Gertie the Dinosaur (1914), Get Out and Get Under (1920) and Filibus: The Mysterious Air Pirate (1915).


Friday, May 5

Artist Spotlight & Dot Painting Workshop

  1–3 p.m.   CU Art Museum
Take a break from finals prep to spend some time with artwork by Barbara Takenaga, a historically underrepresented artist, and make some art of your own. Snacks, drinks and all materials provided. Registration is limited to 20 participants.

  7–8 p.m.   Fiske Planetarium   $8–$12
Learn about black holes with Liam Neeson. This presentation will explore the power and grace of black holes.
