Danielle HodgeDanielle Hodgeof the College of Media, Communication and Information will discuss what it means to love Blackness in a white supremacist and anti-Black society during "Liberatory love and freedom: Radical Reenvisionings." The CU event will be held from 2 to3:30 p.m.on Wednesday, June 16.

Building on African American intellectual traditions, Hodge will re-envision the relationship between freedom and love in the struggle for liberation.

Hodge is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication at the 鶹Ƶ (full bio). As a critical race scholar, Hodge is concerned with how systems of oppression and marginalization inform the identities, discursive practicesand experiences of African Americans. She employs a critical race theoretical approach to identity,cultureand language.
