You're invited to the Diversity and Inclusion Summit, hosted by the Office of Diversity, Equity & Community Engagement at the University Memorial Center, from 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. on Nov. 12 and 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 13. The event is free and open to all CU students, faculty and staff.
The summit will include remarks by keynote speaker Chris Bell of the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs campus, community building led by Dyonne Bergeron of the Center for Inclusion and Social Change andremarks by plenary speaker Evelyn Schlatter of the Southern Poverty Law Center.
In collaboration with the University Libraries, the summit committee has organized bookclub style sessions for CU One Read, an invitation for the campus community to read and discussSabrina & Corina—stories by Kali Fajardo-Anstine, a Denver-based author.
There will also be more than 40 informative, challenging and interactivesessions exploring the themeintent and impact: what now? Sessions will include everything froma panel of leaders speaking aboutthe intent and impact of the campus's strategic initiatives to an opportunity to develop skills for doing one's best and triumphing over one's fears (Courageous Badassery: Overcoming Fear In Order To Change the World).
