We hope your transition back to Boulder for the fall 2017 semester has been fun, excitingand informative.
It is with great honor we are writing you to share our excitement for this year's hosted by Health Promotion and countless other campus organizations. This weekend provides us a unique opportunity to connect and come together as a Buff community.Festivities will begin at noonThursday, Sept.28, and continue until noonMonday, Oct.2.
For those of you who are new to campus, the Live Free Weekend is a time where members from all walks of life on campus pledge to live free from the consumption or use of alcohol, recreational marijuanaand other drugs for 96 hours. Another option is to refrain from binge drinking and the use of recreational drugs during this time.
To make this weekend an enjoyable and memorable experience, there are numerous substance-free events scheduled around campus. Many student organizations and departments have combined their efforts to offer great ways for you to connect with your friends, meet new people and try new things.
You might be asking yourself, why I should participate in Live Free Weekend? We believe this weekend full of events challenges us in a positive way to step back and think about the role that drugs and alcohol have within our lives. Being busy college students, it is sometimes difficult to find the time to reflect on our choices, but the Live Free Weekend offers a perfect opportunity.
There are many reasons students haveand continue to participate in the Live Free Weekend. Whether you want to hang out with your friends or are committing yourself to a healthier lifestyle, this weekend's festivities are for you.
Please for more informationand to sign the pledge. We look forward to seeing you at the events!
Sincerely,
Carter Gruba, Troy Fossett and Betsy Sabala
