Earlier this month, CU Boulder researchers took听their annual snow survey in the听Green Lakes Valley,听part of the city of Boulder watershed.听The听measurements are important for the state's water and听fire management agencies.
The Niwot Ridge research site, maintained by CU Boulder and funded by , has studied听ecological change鈥攂oth natural and human-caused鈥攆or over 30 years. The site听includes and abuts the Continental Divide at more than 13,000 feet in elevation.听A recent听$6.8 million renewal grant to CU Boulder鈥檚听听ensures the research听will continue for another six years.
