The Lockheed Martin Engineering Management Program at the 鶹Ƶ now offers a graduate-level Management Consulting Certificate.
The university is partnering with the Institute of Management Consultants USA, the certifying body and professional association for management consultants and management consulting firms, on the new offering.
IMC USA defined the standards for management consulting with its Body of Knowledge, and its Certified Management Consultant has earned International Organization for Standardization accreditation.
The Management Consulting Certificate is designed to prepare students to serve in an internal or external consulting role for various technical industries. The content is integrated into a four-course, 12-credit-hour series taught by award-winning faculty at CU-Boulder.
The courses comprising the certificate curriculum are:
EMEN 5030: Project Management Systems
EMEN 5040: Quality, Strategy, and Value Creation
EMEN 5050: Leadership
EMEN 5200: Management Consulting
Courses are offered in fall, spring, and summer terms. Certificate courses can later be applied toward completion of the Master of Engineering in Engineering Management degree.
The certificate courses are being delivered both online and on-campus in Boulder, Colorado. All class sessions are broadcast live so that distance students can interact with the live classroom environment. Class sessions are recorded and made available to those who cannot attend class. Additional engagement activities, such as posting on a discussion board or quizzes, enrich the learning experience and create a peer learning network.
“Our graduate credit-eligible certificate in management consulting is ideal for those who want to refine their expertise in consulting,” said CU-Boulder instructor Steven Ouellette. “The flexible distance delivery format is perfect for working professionals, while our partnership with IMC prepares students for real-world consulting and to pass IMC’s Certified Management Consultant exam.”
