麻豆视频 students will demonstrate innovative ideas and projects ranging from a safer climbing helmet to robot butlers at three expos over the next week. All of the events are free and open to the public.
The new Sustainable by Design and Social Entrepreneurship for Equitable Development and Sustainability residential academic programs will host their inaugural RAP Student Expo on Saturday, Dec. 3, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Williams Village North residence hall, 3300 Baseline Road.
The event will showcase about 25 posters and team project presentations on sustainability issues ranging from food to transportation to water filtration.
The second event in the lineup is the semiannual Engineering Design Expo, which will showcase innovations and project prototypes built by engineering undergraduates, including many in the First-Year Engineering Projects course. The event will be the same day, Dec. 3, from noon to 3:30 p.m. at the Integrated Teaching and Learning Laboratory, which is part of the Engineering Center Complex at Regent Drive and Colorado Avenue.
A safer climbing helmet, an array of assistive technology devices for people with disabilities, and a model footbridge to be used by the nonprofit organization Bridges to Prosperity will be among the 75 student projects showcased at the event.
The third event, the ECEE Department Senior Design Expo, will feature the work of electrical, computer and energy engineering department students. The event will be held on Dec. 8 from 9 a.m. to noon in rooms ECEE 1B24 and 1B32 of the Engineering Center.
Among the nine team projects that students have designed and built in the ECEE department's capstone laboratory course are two robot butlers, a laser microphone, an ocean weather buoy and a new device to efficiently control household power grids.
