CU-Boulder Chancellor Richard L. Byyny, who also is a professor of medicine at the CU Health Sciences Center in Denver, will give a talk titled "Cancer: Perspectives of a Physician" on Tuesday, May 12 at the Boulder Public Library.
The event is in memory of Professor Emeritus Gary Stahl of CU-Boulder's philosophy department, who died of complications from cancer on March 11. A bench donated by CU-Boulder with a plaque commemorating Stahl's commitment to the university and community will be dedicated at the event. Stahl worked to form an integrated cancer care collection at the Boulder Public Library.
The bench dedication and a reception will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the library, immediately followed by Dr. Byyny's lecture at 7:30 p.m. in the library auditorium. The talk will be followed by a question and answer session with those in attendance.
The Boulder Public Library is located at Ninth Street and Canyon Boulevard.
