Students can register now for full-term Session I and Session 2 spring credit courses through the Division of Continuing Education at the University of Colorado at Boulder.
Many full-term evening courses begin the week of Jan. 20.
The cost for Colorado residents is $90 per credit hour. Non-residents pay $170 per credit hour for the first three semester hours, but non-resident tuition rises for courses totaling four or more credit hours. Most Session I courses are three or four credit hours.
A variety of courses will be offered this spring including, “Special Topics: Children’s Creative Response to Conflict,” a course that trains teachers in how to help children develop competency in interpersonal communication, community-building and conflict resolution skills. Participants will learn practical techniques and activities as well as the theory and principles from which they derive.
“This course teaches hands-on, experiential based activities that will analyze what we can learn about conflict,” said Dr. Holly Giffin, the course instructor. “This practicum will be transferable to any age group.”
Other courses include, “First Year Korean 1” and “The American Political System,” a course that examines interrelationships among levels and branches of government, formal and informal institutions, and processes and behavior.
Classes are offered in the evening to accommodate nontraditional students who have families and jobs. Many courses fulfill core requirements in the College of Arts and Sciences.
The Continuing Education catalog lists all of the classes offered for fall and is free at the Continuing Education Registration Office, 1221 University Ave.
