Involvement Fair 8 / 30 / 2023

Every year, ASSG participates in the annual involvement fair. This year, was so great! Thank you to all our excisting members who helped make that day so success as well as the student body who showed up. We met so many individuals who really care about improving the CU community and we're so greatful for all the love and support our table received. We can't wait to do it again in the spring.

Funding Hearings

During our ASSG meetings on Wednesday, different clubs and organizations can come and propose a budget amount for an event, retreat, conferance, competition, etc. They come to us with the hope that we can help with the cost of whatever they would like to do. College can be a big and overwhelming cost, but the Arts and Sciences student government is given a large sum of money to be given back to the students. By using the money we collect, we ensure clubs are given the resources to grow and reach more students. We are able to help students expand their knowledge by giving them the opportunity to go to different conferences and retreats, and we are able to help students have more fun and enjoy their college experience. When a different club or organization comes to us seeking financial help, we look for inclusion and purpose. Once they have given us their presentation regarding what they ask for us to fund, we ask for them to step outside, and then we deliberate amongst ourselves to come to a conclusion. Before we can agree to use student funds, we make sure the CU community will be positively impacted. We aim to make CU a better and more welcoming place for all.

ASSG October Outreach Event 10/19/2023

Spreading joy by giving out free pumpkins is a must for us. This was the second year of us giving free pumpkins out to the students just to bring joy to their faces. In the chaos of it all we wanted to give students the ablity to just stop and appreciate the adorable pumpkins. We gave out 500 pumkins in a matter of a couple hours!! It was truly incredible to see so many students.

ASSG 99th Session Retreat

This semester, our body of government was able to go on a retreat with the goal of strengthening our community, which will benefit not only the members of our government but also all CU students. Participating in workshops and team building activities made the time spent at this retreat beneficial. We've returned to school with connect and prepared to serve our students going forward. A special thank you should go out to the student outreach committee for all of their hard work in making this retreat a success.

ASSG 100 Reasons to Smile Event 4/2/2024

The student government representing the arts and sciences provided the students something to grin about. We distributed flowers, popsicles, Red Bulls, and safe 2 Tell merchandise to the students as a token of our appreciation during this event. We also displayed amazing artwork created by students. The only purpose of organizing this function was to make our students happy. This was a really successful event.
