Space Minor Peer Mentoring Program

Why Participate in the PeerÌýMentorship Program?

The Space Minor Peer Mentorship Program gives first and second-year students the opportunity to connect with upper classmen. The Peer Mentor Program allows students to gain a sense of connection and belonging amongst their peers and will help build our Space Minor community. This program is open to all undergraduate students enrolled in the minor.

Mentees will get a chance to meet other new students as well as be matched with 2-3 mentors in a group setting. They will have a chance to ask questions and find help regarding classes, college life outside of school, and to become part of our amazing community of students.Ìý

A Mentor is a contact that can both guide and coach a new student to current college life. Mentors can encourage and advise students by sharing their own experiences and knowledge of classes, college life and self care and give advice on helping newer students think about their futures.

This is also a great way for mentors to strengthen the Space Minor community, work on their leadership skills, and give back to those following in similar footsteps that they have taken. This is also a great addition to any resume!

Space Minor events are offered throughout the semester and are a great way for students involved in the mentoring program to share in activities. Additionally, the small peer mentoring groups can organize their own activities that suite their interest and needs.Ìý
