Â鶹ÊÓƵ the Program

Students complete interdisciplinary training through the Social Psychology Program in the Department of  and the Center for Neuroscience. Coursework focuses on acquiring both fundamental, core knowledge in social psychology and neuroscience and in-depth, advanced knowledge in both areas. This is achieved through core classes in social psychology and neuroscience, and relevant interdisciplinary, advanced seminars. Research training is similarly interdisciplinary. Students have as their primary mentor a social psychology faculty member who is also a member of the Center for Neuroscience, and have other social psychology and neuroscience faculty on their committees.

How to Apply

Prospective Social Neuroscience students must apply to the Social Psychology Program. Once admitted, they can apply to the Center for Neuroscience to participate in the Social Neuroscience PhD track. This usually occurs in the student's first or second year of graduate school.

Students interested in other neuroscience degrees should apply to the home departments of those programs. For example, students interested in Cognitive Neuroscience should apply to the Cognitive Psychology and Cognitive Neuroscience Program in the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience.
