Tibetan Studies Luncheon with Professor Padmatsho on Aug. 25
The Department of Religious Studies was pleased to host a catered lunch on Thursday, August 25, 2011 with Professor Padmatsho from Southwest Nationalities University in Chengdu. Professor Padmatsho is the first Tibetan women to receive a Ph.D. in Buddhist Studies in China, and her research spans from rituals and sacred dances dedicated to the Indian tantric adept Padmasambhava to new educational opportunities for contemporary Tibetan Buddhist women.

Professor Padmatsho will discuss her recent research and how to do field research in Tibetan areas. Department faculty and graduate students are warmly invited to attend as are Tibetan Studies graduate students in allied departments such as Anthropology and Geography. Lunch is provided.
