CU Boulder Recreation Services aims to provide an inclusive environment that supports the health and wellness of all students, regardless of financial barriers. The “You Belong Here” Financial Assistance Fund helps provide opportunities for students who may not have financial resources to access all of the programs that the Rec Center offers.

Purpose

Recreation fees allow students to access our world-class facilities and services. However, some of our programs require additional costs that may be difficult for some of our students to afford. The “You Belong Here” campaign fund provides access and equity for students who are facing financial barriers. Through generous donations, we are able to provide financial assistance and program scholarships that allow students to access and participate fully in trips, classes and other activities.

Eligibility

This campaign is open to all CU Boulder students who are Rec Center members or pay full semester fees.

Programs

Funding is available for the following programs:

  • Fitness and Wellness group fitness classes (Be Fit Pass)
  • Non-credit instructional classes (martial arts, dance, small group training, etc.)
  • Intramural Sports (IM Sports Pass)
  • Outdoor Program activities (Climbing Gym Pass, trips, courses)
  • Sport Clubs (club dues, no more than three fee waives per team on a first come, first serve basis)

Please note: Equipment rental fees are not available for funding.

Assistance awards

In order to provide opportunities for the most people, students can only receive assistance for one activity or program each year. Financial assistance and program fee waivers are capped at $100 per student per year.
