The Higher Education and聽Democracy Initiative was established in 2022 to help build Colorado鈥檚 social and civic fabric and to elevate public and community-engaged scholarship that fulfills CU Boulder鈥檚 democratic mission. Current activities are focused on Colorado鈥檚 Western Slope.聽聽
Higher Education and聽Democracy Fellows are CU Boulder faculty members who serve as subject matter experts, thought partners and liaisons to their CU Boulder schools and colleges regarding matters of civic health. Fellows, our staff and community organizations collaborate on events, research, teaching or creative work to ameliorate the effects of political polarization and build civic trust.聽聽
In addition to the Fellows program, the initiative connects Western Slope partners with relevant CU Boulder units to address a variety of interests and opportunities.聽聽
