Welcome to strings at the Â鶹ÊÓƵ College of Music!
Our professional faculty offer high-level experiences for string players through weekly individual lessons and opportunities to participate in various outstanding ensembles. Weekly performance classes are a vital part of the core curriculum, providing our string players a regular forum for their solo and chamber music repertory.
We are particularly interested in providing students with numerous learning experiences and performance opportunities in chamber music. Regular coaching sessions, including individual study, are offered by the internationally renownedÌýTakács Quartet. Exciting new scholarship opportunities supported by the Starling Foundation and the Takács Society are available.
In addition to the standard college chamber music programs in which all string students participate, the department has established a graduate string quartet residency program in which students work intensively throughout the year with the string faculty and with the Takács Quartet.
