Colorado and many other states require attorney admissions applicants to submit fingerprints with their application for admission (a/k/a bar application).
Colorado requires electronic fingerprints, which can be obtained from only two approved vendors. ÌýÌý
If you need fingerprinting done for another state, fingerprinting is available at the following area offices for a minimal charge ($8-$11), or in some cases, no charge. To save time, call ahead to confirm that the officeÌýis able to help you and ask them the following:
- if they use the electronic (preferred) or manual method for fingerprinting,
- if they supply the appropriate fingerprint card (Form FD-258) or if you need to obtain the card ahead of time (typically from the state office of attorney admissions), and
- for information regarding residency requirements, hours of operation and cost.
Make sure to bring identification and any fingerprinting form required by the state in which you are applying to be licensed to practice law.Ìý
