If you are interested in the status of your financial aid, first in Buff Portal to see if there are any outstanding actions you must take to receive an aid offer. If you've completed all outstanding items, view your aid on the . If you have recently submitted a document via our online upload tool, please give us a couple of days to process. Grants are typically offered to low-income students and can be a combination of federal, state and university funding. Eligibility for grand aid is based on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and when you applied (as it is first-come, first-served). Visit our grants webpage for more information.

Loans are available for undergraduate and graduate students. Federal Direct Subsidized and Unsubsidized Loans are need-based (i.e. provided for low-income families based on the FAFSA application).

A Parent Plus Loan is available to parents of dependent undergraduate students. Read more details and how to apply on our Parent PLUS loan webpage.

Private student loans are offered by private lenders and eligibility depends on a credit score. We recommend that you complete a financial aid application before considering a private loan.

Eligibility for financial aid is based on a prior tax year, which may not be indicative of the family's continuing ability to pay for educational expenses. In order to receive financial aid, students must comply with Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP). This policy requires students to maintain a certain GPA and complete a set percentage of the courses attempted. Official withdrawals from the university are processed through the Registrar's office; however, your financial aid may be impacted as well.
