Bryan Convens is aÌýPhD researcher in the (R&MM) research group of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), under the supervision of Prof. Bram Vanderborght.ÌýHe has a personal research grant funded by the Research Foundation Flanders (FWO) of the Flemish Government. He received his B.S. in Electromechanical Engineering in 2014 from the VUB, Belgium, and his M.S. in Electromechanical Engineering with option in Mechatronics-Construction in 2016 as a joint degree from the VUB and the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB), Belgium. In 2015 he worked 3 months as a research intern at the Center for Research on Complex Automated Systems (CASY) of the University of Bologna and at Aslatech Engineering in Bologna, Italy.

His research stay at CU Boulder was centered on theÌýFormation Control of Multi-Agent Systems. The focus of his research in general is distributed constrained control of multi-robot systems with applications in aerial robotic cooperative navigation and physical interaction. He also has research expertise on compliant actuation technologies for robotics.
