Director, The Colorado Diversity Initiative听University of Colorado at Boulder.听 As the only faculty member who was a Principal Investigator of an AGEP grant nationwide (of 22 awarded), I was one of two directors of the Colorado Diversity Initiative.听 I conceived and helped lead a joint NIH NSF-funded program to recruit and integrate graduate students from socioeconomic groups that have been traditionally underrepresented in the sciences and engineering through STEM PhD and Post-doctoral programs.听

Postdoctoral Researcher,听University of California at Berkeley.听 Lead independent research to apply direct quantitative microscopy and biochemical assays to evaluate enhanced and intrinsic听in-situ听bioremediation in hydrocarbon and solvent contaminated soils.听 Results from this work were used for environmental risk assessment for closure and reuse of the Naval Air Station on San Francisco Bay.

1989/94
Civil Engineer,听City and County of San Francisco, Responsible to the Engineering Bureau for in-house process engineering and research projects for the City's main wastewater treatment facilities (part-time 鈥�89 - 鈥�92).听 Full-time member of the start-up team for the state-of-the-art Oceanside Water Pollution Control Plant (鈥�92-鈥�94).
