Degree Programs

We offer a major and minor in Ethnic Studies, a Critical Sport Studies certificate program, and numerous Study Abroad opportunities. Our courses cover the foundations of the field, as well as specialized topics in Chicanx, Indigenous, Africana, and Asian American Studies.

This degree program offers students an efficient and rigorous path toward earning a bachelor’s degree in Ethnic Studies and a master’s degree in Education in five years. It represents our shared commitment with the School of Ed to educational opportunity, diversity, and engaged scholarship.

We are one of the few programs in the country to offer a PhD in Critical Ethnic Studies. Our students pursue projects that advance the field through their relationally-situated, yet grounded work across Africana, Chicanx, Indigenous, and Asian American studies.
