An Evening of Recognition and Celebration

On Friday, April 20, ENVD hosted over 200 guests, including design professionals, alumni, students, faculty and staff at the ENVD Awards Gala, held at the St. Julien Hotel. During the event, 41 students were recognized for their design scholarships and awards.

Designing for Life on Mars and Saving Honeybees on Earth

Have you ever thought about what it would be like to live on Mars? This hypothetical idea is coming to life in an ENVD senior-level studio, taught by Instructor Kimberly Drennan.

Nicholas DeFaria

Nicholas DeFaria

Nicholas is from San Diego, California. He's a full-time student and spends his weekends with the Air National Guard. One thing he likes most about ENVD is the opportunity to make connections with professionals.

Brooke Williams

Brooke Williams

Brooke is from Santa Cruz, California. During her sophomore year, she made the switch from architectural engineering to environmental design. In summer 2017, she interned with the architecture firm Fuse, and in summer 2018 one of her designs broke ground. In her spare time, she listens to podcasts, "because you can learn so much about a subject in 20 minutes."

Christian Bellefeuille

Christian is from Fort Collins, Colorado. He works at the Digital Media Center and enjoys urban exploration and photography. One piece of advice he'd give incoming students is "to not hold back, be yourself and go for it."

Joshua Magallanes

Joshua Magallanes

Joshua is from Denver. He is pursuing a dual degree from the Program in Environmental Design and the Leeds School of Business. His favorite thing about ENVD is the creative freedom and sense of community amongst the faculty and students.

Elyse Skinner

Elyse Skinner

Elyse is from Littleton, Colorado. She worked in the front office as a Peer Advisor. Last spring, she defended her Honors Thesis - Designing an Immersive World: Exploring Theme Parks through Hayao Miyazaki's Spirited Away.

A new Denver-area playground designed and built by 18 students in the Â鶹ÊÓƵ Program in Environmental Design (ENVD) will celebrate its grand opening on Saturday, June 3, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
