T9Hacks is a 36-hour hackathon听welcoming anyone who would like to听participate. The event's听purpose is to create a safe and welcoming environment for women and听marginalized students. This year鈥檚 theme is 鈥淓veryone鈥檚 a hacker.鈥澨齏hether you know how to code or not, T9Hacks is a great place to design,听learn听and create. The hackathon will include workshops and fun events to enhance your听experience and allow you to meet people.听Projects will be focused in five听tracks: Underserved Populations, Equality, Health, Children &听Education, and Earth Protection and Sustainable Development. There will also be seminars to support these tracks.听

You do not need to code to submit a project. The event welcomes all creative projects听that support one of the five tracks.

Renovations to the Engineering Center north wing (formerly the aerospace engineering wing) will begin on Monday, March 29. As a result, access to restrooms and exterior doors in ECAE will be unavailable.听 The first come, first served study rooms in the ECAE wing will also be unavailable starting March 29. Any items left in those spaces will be removed by the subcontractors. Alternative study and meal rooms in the Engineering Center and SEEC are available for reservation through EMS.

The College of Engineering and Applied Science is proposing the creation of an听Inclusive Culture Council that will be added into the college rules. The purpose of the Inclusive Culture Council is to provide strategic leadership and transparency for cultivating an inclusive, equitable, interculturally competent and supportive environment in the college. The council, if approved, will include student representation.

The college is seeking student input on the proposal by April 1.

The Business Minor听is a 12-credit program designed to supplement any major and develop sought-after career skills听in as little as two semesters. Admitted students have access to numerous Leeds School of Business resources,听including its nationally recognized professional mentorship program, ongoing professional development events and assorted career-advancing certificates. The Earth Surface Processes Modeling Summer Institute听is听an eight-day immersive online training experience happening June 8-17 for 25 graduate students (and advanced undergrads planning to attend graduate school), postdoctoral fellows, and/or early career faculty. ESPIn is designed to allow participants to make advances on critical earth surface processes research questions by teaching cyberinfrastructure skills. Applications are due March 22.

Spend your Maymester (May 12-June 2) immersed in China's rich history and modern identity and earn three听credits for ASIA 4300: China Speed: Modernity, Memory & Heritage. Virtual tours will take you through two main themes: "Modernity and Memory" and "Rural Urbanization and Infrastructure Development.鈥� The program is open to all majors, there are no prerequisites, and it is also H&SS approved.
