Launched on April 27 by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Public Safety Communications Research Division, the First Responder UAS Indoor Challenge (UAS 4.0) aims to advance the use of UAS (aka drones) in first-responder search-and-rescue operations. Competitors have been developing cost-effective and easy-to-fly drones to help search-and-rescue teams gain better situational awareness prior to entering a building where there is no GPS, limited lighting and compromised structural integrity. Join this workshop to get organized for the semester! We'll be sharing tips for organizing your course syllabi in a planner or phone calendar, as well as time-management skills.

Academically, fewer than 12 semester credit hours is considered part-time enrollment.Ìý That may be an intentional choice and the right one for youÌýand/or may be due to:

• You may simply be on a waiting list(s) or still sorting out your course schedule.
• You may be in your last semester of enrollment with only a couple of classes left to finish up your degree.
• You may have just finished up a Winter Session course. Although that course is no longer an "active" enrollment, the course DOES count towards your spring semester enrollment (so include that as part of your overall spring semester credit load).
• You may be a partnership program student in Grand Junction or Gunnison.ÌýAlthough your CU Boulder coursework is less than full-time, with your CMU/Western coursework included you may reach 12 overall credits and be considered full-time.

In any case, consider the following factors which may be impacted by part-time enrollment (if applicable towards your specific situation):

• Financial Aid and/or Scholarships. Contact the campusÌýFinancial Aid Office if you have any questions or concerns about how part-time enrollment affects your financial aid package and/or scholarships.
• Tuition Rates. Review the Bursar’s OfficeÌýTuition Rates ²¹²Ô»åÌýTuition Guarantee to learn about implications of part-time enrollment.
• Student Health Insurance. Check your health insurance policy to ensure you are still eligible for coverage while a part-time student.
• Eligibility for Living On-Campus. Check your housing contract to see if you need to be enrolled in a minimum number of credit hours in order to live on-campus.

The goal of the Network Operations Intern Program is to provide current students with exposure to a real-life network operation setting, while giving them the opportunity to learn about the industry.

Join their engineering teams that build massively scalable software and systems, architect low-latency infrastructure solutions, proactively guard against cyber threats, and leverage machine learning alongside financial engineering to continuously turn data into action. They are actively hiring undergraduate juniors (graduating in spring 2024 or December 2023) for summer internship roles in software engineering, systems engineering, cybersecurity, and quantitative strategy at their offices in Salt Lake City and Dallas.

Interns work directly with full-time software engineers and other interns in the company’s Boulder office to develop low-latency, high-performance, proprietary trading systems. They participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle, and college students of any year are welcome to apply.
