If you find areas of interest, our staff will be on-site and ready to help you declare majors and/or minors. Come for free beanies and discover how you might pursue a new field in A&S.

Bruce Dunne, PhD and distinguished engineer, will give an overview of Medtronic and discuss surgical instruments developed by Medtronic鈥檚 Colorado-based Advanced Surgical Technologies team. We encourage any students interested in careers at Medtronic or in medical device research and development to attend, in preparation for the virtual career fair on Wednesday, March 1.

Consider nominating a fellow student who is graduating with their bachelor鈥檚 degree in May or August 2023 for a College of Engineering and Applied Science award! These eight undergraduate awards bestowed at graduation represent the values of the college and promote important themes among the student body.

Please review the criteria associated with each award and consider by Tuesday, Feb. 21 (self-nominations are not allowed). If the nominee wishes to be considered for a particular award, they will need to provide further materials to complete their nomination. Awardees will be notified by early April.

The virtual Department of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering听career and internship fair听will be听hosted through the Handshake platform. Employers听will be able to schedule one-on-one video sessions with students, host group meetings with up to 50 students, review resumes online and post information about their听organization ahead of time.

This event will capture most sub-disciplines within the department, including听structural, electrical, mechanical, geotech, water resources and construction engineering & management. There are some specific opportunities which align with other majors, particularly mechanical (HVAC, healthcare, biotech, life sciences, industrial, oil & gas, renewables) and electrical engineering (renewables, generation, storage, transmission, telecom).听We welcome all听students听to join!

All CEAS students in good academic standing should have received an email last week from Sharon Anderson, Director of Active Learning, with a link to view the CU SPUR 2023 projects, in addition to a link to apply for CU SPUR 2023.

Meet with a current Engineering student to learn a new organizational tool or learning strategy! CEAS Peer Academic Coaches are trained by the Academic Success Team to help you explore effective learning and priority management strategies.

This team of current undergraduate researchers can meet with prospective students one-on-one to offer advice and support on the benefits of getting involved with research, how to get started, as well as share information on the various research opportunities CU has to offer. The Astronaut Scholarship Foundation awards up to $15,000 to outstanding students who exhibit motivation, imagination, and exceptional performance in the fields of engineering, math, and natural or applied sciences. Looking for top competitive STEM students for the Astronaut Scholarship Award (ASF). If you think you qualify, please seek nomination by a faculty member in your major/field.

Campus nomination deadline is Wednesday, March 1. A faculty member can nominate any student, and the CU selection committee will choose our 2 finalists. One of the finalists will be selected by the ASF as our next scholar.

BSI Scholars Program is a funding and professional development program for current CU Boulder undergraduates. Eligible students conducting STEM research are paid to work in a laboratory on the CU Boulder or CU Denver Anschutz Medical Campus. Students also attend seminars to enhance the research experience and summarize their findings through a presentation at the end of the term. Deadline to apply is Sunday, Feb. 27.

Students must be a US citizen or permanent resident enrolled at CU Engineering and with interest in smart cabins, reduced crew operations, aviation sustainability, digital airline operations, and unmanned aerial vehicle operations. Engineering interns can expect to utilize and adapt technology as a data tool for clinicians. This encompasses problem solving and optimizing technological tools. Projects may include incorporating motion capture technology into routine physical therapy, surgical evaluation, rehabilitation, or clinical decision making. Interns will be asked to give a final presentation of their work. In addition to these activities, interns will be offered opportunities to shadow various clinical professionals and attend relevant lectures.

The goal of the Network Operations Intern Program is to provide current students with exposure to a real-life network operation setting, while giving them the opportunity to learn about the industry.

Dr. Jazmyne Peters will talk about trauma, wellness, and healing of Black bodies and minds in our community, and specifically the bodies of young Black women. She will share her unique perspective as a campus counselor at CU Boulder. Light refreshments will be available at 3:30 p.m.

The Basic Needs Center is partnering up with Elevations Credit Union to host a workshop on financial literacy. Students will be introduced to basic budgeting, credit and debt management knowledge. Appetizers and refreshments will be served.
