The College of Engineering & Applied Science has revised its MAPS foreign language requirement to two units in a single foreign language, meaning that students need to demonstrate second-level proficiency in a world language other than English to meet graduation requirements.Ìý

This is a change from previous policy, which required third-level proficiency in a single foreign language or second-level proficiency in two different foreign languages. The revised policy applies to all undergraduate students regardless of matriculation date, so if you have not yet met this requirement (or would now meet it based on the revised policy), please consult with your academic advisor soon.

Spring mini proposal cycle application due Feb. 16
The Engineering Excellence Fund is accepting spring mini proposals (less than $3,000) for projects that promote excellence and innovation in engineering education at CU Boulder. The application deadline for the mini proposal cycle is Wednesday, Feb. 16, at 11:59 p.m.

Annual major proposal cycle application due March 6
The EEF's annual major proposal cycle is now open for submissions. Anyone within the College of Engineering and Applied Science can apply for funding in any amount. The application deadline for this proposal cycle is Sunday, March 6, at 11:59 p.m.

Pezzullo will be interviewing Mia Ives-Rublee about her expertise in disability justice with environmental organizations, institutions and broader coalitions—including outdoor recreation access, being a competitive athlete, plastic ban advocacy, as well as the value of public protest and voting. Join Disability Services to learn how you can get organized for the semester. This presentation will cover skills on how to organize your syllabi and manage your time between courses. This event is open to all students, not just those registered with Disability Services.

The Idea Forge is welcoming applications for the spring semester to join our fun team. The available positions are for general Idea Forge student staff members (we call them smiths). Duties vary on a daily basis, but include working on special projects for each of our staff members. Projects can range from doing CAD to helping with research data to teaching workshops. There is also opportunity for promotion!

Engineering Career Services is seeking applications from undergraduate or graduate students interested in serving in a role as a special projects student coordinator for Engineering Career Services. We are looking for a student who is interested in event planning and working directly with engineering employers. This student would market events and assist with day-of-event tasks for panels, tabling, and professional development opportunities. This position pays $15/hour and works 10-15 hours/week. Please note that hours may fluctuate based on recruiting needs and time of year.
