The college is co-sponsoring "Jazz and the Civil Rights Movement," a combined lecture and music performance featuring CU Boulder flutist/lecturer Galen Abdur-Razzaq. It will begin with a flute prelude followed by a presentation chronicling the history of music from the turn of the century to the present day. Additionally, it will illustrate how jazz became an advocate for the Civil Rights Movement.

The Office of Diversity, Equity and Community is extending the summit to a semester-long series that will offer opportunities for themed "Community Conversations," while offering two keynote sessions on Feb. 8.

All faculty, staff and students are invited to join in cultivating an equity mindset as we continue to challenge ourselves on the journey toward inclusive excellence.

Nominate them by Feb. 11 for the Anne K. Heinz Staff Award for Excellence in Outreach and Engagement. This $5,000 award recognizes a staff or nontenure-track faculty member who has shown an exemplary commitment to outreach and engagement work.
