Giving Tuesday support for CU Engineering tops $125K!

More than 280听alumni and friends rallied for Giving Tuesday, raising over $125,000听to support CU Engineering students.听Thanks to the support of so many, the generous $25,000 match by alum John Mollenkopf was unlocked.

The top three funds with the most unique donors will also be awarded $5,000 to split from the dean's challenge. Here are the final rankings:

No. 1: Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering, $2,500
No. 2: Ann & HJ Smead Aerospace Engineering Sciences, $2,000
No. 3: BOLD Center, $500

McKnight named CU Distinguished Professor

As a founding PI of the McMurdo Dry Valleys Long Term Ecological Research Program in Antarctica, she has spent her career studying ecological, biogeochemical and hydrologic processes in lakes, streams and watersheds, primarily in polar and mountain regions.

Applications for a new round of seed grant funding from the Engineering Education and AI-Augmented Learning Interdisciplinary Research Theme are open through Jan. 7. Funding is available for research grants, proposal writing support and travel. Proposals may be submitted via email,

The EER-AIL IRT theme includes research into engineering and computing education and assessment, as well as artificial intelligence/machine learning and the convergence between those areas. Email IRT directors Alessandro Roncone and Angela Bielefeldt for more information.

The McNair Scholars Program Application is open through Jan. 30 for the 2022-23 academic year.听Virtual information sessions begin on Monday, Dec. 6, at noon.听
