Frequently asked questions to initiate a marketing and communications related request for a new project or a major update to an existing project.
Goal: What is the problem you're trying to solve? What is the outcome you wish to achieve? What does success look like?
Audience: Who do you intend to view the project? Is there an obstacle in the audience’s mind that needs to be overcome? After viewing the project, what action are you wanting the audience to do.
Messaging: What are the key messages that need to be included?
Must-haves: What are the essential elements this project requires?
Messaging, specific imagery, call to action, mailing list
Production: What elements need to be created or gathered to complete the project?
Photos, infographics, script, logos, copy
Platforms: Where will the project be viewed?
Website(s), social media channels (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube), printed flyer, brochure, mailer (envelope size, self-mailer), postcard, digital publication, email, e-newsletter, web banner, digital screen
Specifications: What are the parameters for the platform where it will be published?
Size, resolution, orientation (horizontal or vertical) envelope size, required credits (original author)
Deadlines: What are the benchmark dates for deliverables?
Deadline for final copy and visual assets to producer, first review, second review, final product in-hand
Stakeholders: Who made the request? Who is the project lead? Who needs to review the project?
Scope: What else should be considered to produce this request and how will success be measured?
Budget, vendors (quotes, specialty processes), relating assets (landing page, story, video), specific dates (event, embargo date, admission cycle, RSVP deadline), college goals
