Big Bee Bonanza is seeking Virtual Volunteers!

Interested in supporting bee research and conservation? You can BEE part of science by becoming a community volunteer and transcribing specimen labels:

WHY – Museums contain A LOT of data on pollinators from the past 130 years. Help us mine those data so they can be used for research and conservation.

WHO – Anyone, campus and community members, with access to a computer with an Internet connection can help.

WHERE –You can participate anywhere your computer can access the internet. is an online community science program.

WHAT – Simply login, look at an image of an actual museum specimen, transcribe the data verbatim from specimen labels into the provided template, and voila! It’s fun and oddly engaging once you get going!

WHEN – Anytime 24/7/356.  Great to do while streaming music. The more time and/or the more volunteers, the more data becomes available. It only takes about 2 minutes per specimen.
