Black and African American

As part of our dedication to serve all communities at CU, we recognize the many barriers and distinctive factors that may impact the experience of Black and African American folks attending CU Boulder. We also recognize the ways in which CAPS has been a barrier to seeking service in the past and we are committed to removing barriers to access care moving forward. We will continue to work with campus partners to fine-tune and build resources for this community to thrive in the realm of mental health on this campus. Below, we have included a non-exhaustive list of resources below directed to supporting Black and African American folks on campus, in Boulder and in the surrounding area.

If you find yourself still searching for resources, have resources you feel may be appropriateÌýor have feedback about the resources listed, please feel free to reach out.

It's a common experience for Black students in Predominantly White Institutions (PWIs) to experience feelings of isolation, loneliness, helplessness and misunderstanding. However, it's also important to lean into Blackness and celebrate our experiences. Join CAPS toÌýtalk through common issues and topics within the Black community while centering on Black wellness and mental health.
