A Tree Grows In... The Office

No one will need聽to water this office plant: A team of CU students recently聽designed and built a work space around a live linden tree聽in Boulder鈥檚 Central Park.聽

The modular structure 鈥� made of wood and metal聽and open to the sky 鈥� measures 450 square feet and has聽benches, workstations and a deck. The temporary building聽is not attached to the tree and will be moved periodically.聽

The undertaking, part of the Tree X Office project,聽which aims to modify the human relationship to nature,聽gave third-year environmental design students soup-to-nuts聽design, permitting and construction experience.聽
