Top Five Reasons Upperclassmen Live in Dorms

In the fall 598 upperclassmen will move into the dorms, up 23 percent from last year. These pioneers are helping the university meet its Flagship 2030 goal of having 20 percent of upperclassmen live on campus. As an incentive, many existing dorms have been renovated and residence hall programs are being offered to nonfreshmen.

Here’s why upperclassmen are staying on campus.

  1. Furnished rooms
  2. Convenience of being close to classes and campus events
  3. Strong sense of community
  4. Dining halls
  5. Flat fee instead of fluctuating bills each month
