We are not currently requiring the GRE for Fall 2022 admission.
All international applicants are required to meet a minimum standard of English proficiency. This requirement can be met if:
- Your native language is English.听TOEFL/IELTS is not required for applicants from the following countries: Australia, Belize, Botswana, Canada (except Quebec), Commonwealth Caribbean, Ghana, Great Britain, India, Ireland, New Zealand, Nigeria, Scotland, Singapore, South Africa, Zimbabwe.
- You have completed at least one year of full-time academic study at a U.S. institution (or at an institution in a country where English is the native language) at the time you apply, within two years from your desired admission term. Enrollment in an English language program, including within the USA, does not fulfill this requirement. This can be confirmed by your transcripts.听
- 听You take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), or an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) and receive a score that is equal to or higher than your program鈥檚 requirements.听 Official TOEFL and IELTS test scores are only valid for two years from the date of taking the test.

View听curriculum outlines for CMCI鈥檚 graduate programs. All of the college鈥檚 traditional graduate programs offer opportunities for interdisciplinary elective coursework that can be taken outside of the student鈥檚 home department, both within and outside of the college, and students are encouraged to collaborate with both students and faculty from a variety of fields. Doctoral dissertation committees are required to have a least one member outside of the student鈥檚 home department.
All admitted CMCI PhD students receive full funding offers.听 This funding takes the form of a 50% Research and/or Teaching Assistant position, which requires approximately 20 hours per week.听 These positions cover all tuition costs and include a stipend.听 The current AY 19-20 salary for a TA/RA position is $22,781.44.

CMCI currently offers two online graduate programs:
The Department of Journalism offers the Master of Arts in Journalism Entrepreneurship and the Department of Advertising, Public Relations and Media Design offers the Master of Arts in Corporate Communication. All other CMCI graduate programs are on-campus degree programs without the option for online completion.
