Congratulations to Elizabeth Deacon, winner of this year鈥檚听Mary E. V. McClanahan Graduate Essay Prize.听Elizabeth is fourth-year PhD student working on Apuleius. She receives the听$1500 prize for her essay 鈥淒iotima and Isis: The Platonic Model behind the听Metamorphoses鈥� Eleventh Book鈥�. She will present her听essay as a public lecture on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at 5PM in HUMN 150.听 Everyone is invited to what promises to be a fun听and stimulating occasion, and the lecture will be followed by a celebratory reception.
