Congratulations to Elizabeth Deacon, winner of this year’sMary E. V. McClanahan Graduate Essay Prize.Elizabeth is fourth-year PhD student working on Apuleius. She receives the$1500 prize for her essay “Diotima and Isis: The Platonic Model behind theMetamorphoses’ Eleventh Book”. She will present heressay as a public lecture on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at 5PM in HUMN 150. Everyone is invited to what promises to be a funand stimulating occasion, and the lecture will be followed by a celebratory reception.
