Education
My undergraduate studies were accomplished at the United States Naval Academy (Annapolis MD) with a focus on the Earth Sciences. I completed my Masters and Doctoral work later at the Naval Postgraduate School (Monterey California) as a Physical Oceanographer with an emphasis in Marine Mammal Acoustics.
Most Interesting Travels
I’m absolutely awestruck with the beauty and rich ecosystem diversity found in the Arctic regions.
Extracurricular Activities
Like everyone who establishes a home at the base of the Flatirons – it’s Hiking, Biking, and Skiing. The Boulder CO fauna/flora seasons are BEYOND remarkable - Spring wildflowers, Elk rutting in RMNP, Aspen fall colors and ... world-class skiing – all within an hour's drive!
Current Research
My primary research focus is on the impact of anthropogenic (oil industry and offshore wind farm) underwater noise on marine mammals.
