Stephen Kissler was recently  by ValuePenguin.com, a consumer finance website with a focus on data analysis. Stephen is a student in his final year of the concurrent B.S./M.S. degree program in Applied Mathematics. He is currently working on a project with Dr. David Bortz modeling glucose and insulin dynamics in the human body to better understand diabetes. He also works with Dr. Vanja Dukic in developing a model to uncover the link between weather trends and meningitis outbreaks. His mathematical interests lie largely in probability and statistics with an emphasis in public health applications. He is applying to doctoral programs in Statistics and Applied mathematics to begin in the fall of 2014.
