The certificate in entrepreneurial studies is designed to develop students’ abilities to create, discover and develop opportunities in startup ventures or existing organizations, and bring their entrepreneurial knowledge to all career paths.

The entrepreneurship studies certificate provides students with the knowledge, understanding and skills to create, organize and manage new ventures or emerging growth businesses as independent entities or within corporate structures. Students examine theory and research while  gaining experience in entrepreneurial cultures through professional experiences and skill building. Academic Plan & Requirements

To earn the certificate in entrepreneurial studies, students must complete a minimum of 9 credit hours in the following courses: 

  • Entrepreneurial Environments
  • Entrepreneurial Finance
  • New Venture Creation

Students must also: 

  • Complete an approved 60-hour entrepreneurship internship with a startup company and write an essay about their experience. 
  • Attend a minimum of eight events in the entrepreneurship ecosystem and provide a short write-up on the experiences.
  • Pass a written exam in entrepreneurship at the conclusion of their studies.
